Well, the time is almost upon us to hit the links. Because of COVID-19, all golf courses in Ontario have been closed since last fall (Well since mid-March for COVIC-19 and winter for the rest). Now we await patiently for the government to give us the thumbs up. And last Friday, Premier Doug Ford told golf courses to start full scale maintenance and to prepare for opening day! This is great news for all golfers in Ontario.
Well, if the government had not closed the courses because of the pandemic, we likely would be playing right now. However, for the safety all citizens of Ontario and Canada, they closed the golf courses (and many other business). Because of the success of safety plan, they have deemed it time for a gradual easing of restrictions and golf courses will be in the first list of businesses allowed to open (as long as they follow the social distancing rules). I, for one, am very happy. And not surprisingly, Osprey Links is ready as well.
I am guessing that this coming weekend or Monday, 11 May, the green light will be given. I can hardly way for the word so I can hit the links and start living my new normal. Man, what a journey!
I hope everyone is doing well and are #stayingsafe by helping to #flattenthecurve.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim, I hope your anticipated opening can be achieved. My state is still in lock-down and the application is very uneven. That New York and New Jersey (hot spots) are playing golf and we are not is not being looked upon favorably. I/we have petitioned our governor to open Maryland’s golf courses and until that point, continue to travel to Virginia to swing the sticks. Hopefully soon!

Brian,
Great news. Remember to social distance and be safe. On a personal note, I am jealous.
