Tips For Hitting Fairway Woods

There are many tips for hitting our fairway woods properly to maximize distance. I know what I need to do to be successful, but what works for me may not work for you. Regardless, I found a video that encapsulates how I hit a fairway wood and hybrids. It is nothing new, but something fundamental that most golfers should know and understand. Of course there are other tips, but these three are suffice for today.

I like this video because it is simple, easy to understand and repeatable. All the things I look for when offering a golf tip.

In my case, ball position is key. When I am not hitting my fairway woods or hybrids well, my ball position is poor. My ball is too far forward in my stance forcing me to move out of position or hit on the top part of my ball. My contact is poor and distance weak. However, these are my challenges.

Hitting fairway woods and hybrids can be simplified. Next time you are practicing, remember the above video. It will help you on your path to be a better golfer.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

  1. I’m the last person to go to on this subject. I spent years unable to hit a fairway wood off the deck and while I can now I have no idea what I’m doing differently now. But I can even hit driver off the deck now.

All I really have on the subject is don’t wait years like I did to figure it out.
