Great Golf Advice From Tommy Fleetwood

As an amateur, I am always looking for advice from better players. Wait, let me revise that, common sense advice from better players. No, wait, common sense advice that I can actually use from better golfers. Tommy Fleetwood quickly offers a list of things that amateurs can do to improve their golf game. He might not have realized that his words provide greater insight than expected. But for me, it hits to some of the fundamental tenets of golf.

In case you missed it, here is what I gleaned from Fleetwood’s short response to the question of what amateurs can do to be better golfers:

  • Know your distances of your clubs
  • Play within yourself
  • Open your face while in the sand trap
  • Create consistent practice routines
  • Learn how course management improves our golf game

Talk about a treasure chest of great tips. This list is things we routinely talk about at The Grateful Golfer! It validates my thoughts and provides inspiration to continue writing. Golf is not a difficult game if approached properly. The challenge most players experience is wanting to sprint before they can crawl. It is a natural phenomena for all athletes, however putting in the practice time is critical to success on the links.

If you gleaned something different from the video, drop a comment and lets talk.

This is a quick update (same day about an hour later) because I stumbled across the same question to Lee Westwood.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links……very soon! 🙂
