Working Towards My Best Golf Game

Each golfer has a unique game that works best for them. It can be difficult to find that game and when we do, we are not always happy with the result. Regardless of the path, I believe that the end state of our game is never the actual finish line. There is always something new to learn (and acquiring golf knowledge is an endless pursuit) as we try to attain our lowest scores. This journey might seem dauntless, however it does not always have to be intense or arduous. Fueling our passion for golf is a biproduct of finding our unique golf game.

The saying that “Knowledge is Power” is very true when your are searching for your best golf game. Understanding how to hit various golf shots, navigating through course management or sinking a clutch putt are all part of the process of gaining knowledge and putting it to use.

There is a difference between wisdom (gained by applying knowledge) and knowledge (gained through study and experiences), yet they seem so intertwined. I mention this because many beginners learn and understand the mechanics of golf, but lack the wisdom to apply this knowledge in the correct fashion. Understanding the differences will help ease the frustration of developing their best game of golf.

Over the years, I have strayed onto many different golf paths. It is like I see something shiny and off I go in pursuit of a quick fix. After a time down this path, I realize that the new best thing was not compatible to my golf game and back to the start I would go in order to find the next path to success.

Each wayward venture did offer some knowledge and hopefully I turned it into wisdom. It was an excursion that sometimes I regretted as a waste of time, but for the most part, it was part of my learning to develop my best game of golf.

As I continue to refine my golf game, I realize that my time might be getting shorter to achieve my goal of playing my unique best game of golf. I know that venturing into the world of hickory sticks, I have opened a new path to improving my overall golf game. It is way to early to tell, but I am open to the possibility. Regardless of the paths I journeyed, my passion for the game has not dwindled. And neither has my desire to find my unique best golf game.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
