The Match Play Tournaments Have Started

For the past four years, I have organized a small match play tournament at the Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort. With and Open and Club Champion events, I am always hoping to add more players. This year, under a straight match play format, the numbers are smaller than last year, but alas that is the nature of the event. Regardless of the numbers, I am hoping that the field continues to be have fun and at least have a chance at playing some competitive golf.

Due the numbers, there are quite a few byes in the first round and that will add to the excitement of the action. I draw everything randomly and do not try to match anyone specific against anyone. It is the best way to allow fairness in the event and also the chance of playing golf against someone different. Many of the top players are participating with the hopes of taking home a prize. Here are the two draws:

I have a bye in the Open event and play Misha in the first round of the Club Championship. If you remember from last year, I played against Misha in the finals of the 2024 Club Championship and we had a fantastic match. Misha walked away the victor and the coveted parking sport, but this year will be different as I am hunger to regain my title and favourite parking area.

I will be updating the results as they come in and if you want to follow all the action, you can find the results here: Open, Club Championship.

I enjoy running these tournaments and once they are set up, the run themselves. As always, I want to thank Mike and Brenda for sponsoring the prize of the parking spot for the Club Champion. It is going to be two great events this year and I am hoping everyone has a great time.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
