Playing Early In The Morning

One of the benefits of being a member of the Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort is the ability to play early bird golf. This allows me to play a quick round of golf with no other players on the course. It usually takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to play two balls on the nine hole course. I love it because I have an entire day to do whatever with my time. There are other benefits that are often overlooked, yet I am reminded ever time I hit the links early.

The course is quiet and serene. This time of the morning, around 6 am tee off, the ambiance is fantastic. It is quiet except for Mother Nature. It truly is great for my soul and I enjoy looping the course at the time. The other benefit is seeing things I do not normally notice when playing in a group.

The above image is on the sixth green looking back towards the tee box. The sunlight is awesome and I really enjoyed the view. I took a few minutes to let it sink in and reenergize my mind. It does not hurt that I hit the ball to within 4 feet from 150 yards, but in this case it was secondary to the wonderful view.

Playing early bird golf allows me to be mindful. It allows me to just be in the moment. It offers the opportunity to be grateful for the joys in my life. I like playing golf early in the morning and will continue to periodically do soon for the rest of my golfing journey.

I am wishing everyone an awesome day and I am sending you all positive energy!

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

  1. Sunrise or sunset golf are the only good options in the summer in Florida. The rest of the day it’s too miserably hot out.

Sunset is my choice. While sunrise golf starts you out with the nicest weather, it gets hotter as you play while sunset golf starts off hotter but cools down as you play which I think makes it easier to play well all through the round. And you get a bonus as it’s cheaper too.

Early morning rounds can run 80 dollars while the end of day rounds at the same course can be half that.

Besides, I’m not a morning person. Lol
