If you ever play competitive golf the emotional ups and downs wears on our golf psyche. It is mentally tough remain focused during a 4 or 5 hour round when you are trying not to make mistakes that add to your score. I have found that over the many years of competition, how I align my thoughts determined the results recorded on my scorecard. Finding my mental strength on the links led to winning tournaments. After understanding the power of a positive, focused mindset, I now face all aspects of my game with a never give up attitude and you can too!

A Change To The Grateful Golfer
Writing about golf is a fun past time for me. Eclipsing 1,000,000 (yup 1 million) views this summer after almost 11 years of writing, I am thinking about what to do with my little golf blog. I am grateful for the 568,000+ visitors who deemed my musing worthy enough to stop by. But now it is time to do something more with my golf blog. As of yesterday, I have started a small experiment with the hope that it expands over time.

Unlike my friends to the south, I am patiently waiting for the temperatures to warm up! At a brisk minus 16° C (3° F) this morning, my patience is being tested to the max. This time of year is always the worst and I do find it challenging to stay focused on upcoming golf season. Our long winter’s nap is almost over, but the days before I can get outside to swing my clubs seems to be dragging. This happens every year and I go through the same doldrums as in the past. Before suggesting I take a trip, that is not in the cards. So, I will dig deep, focus my attention on things I like to do and patiently wait for golf season to arrive at a snail’s pace.

As you can see, we still have a ways to go before I can dig out the clubs. The last 30 days is always the hardest.
In the meantime, I will remain grateful for the blessings in my life.
To remain positive, here is my golf thought for today:

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Keeping Your Course Management Decisions Simple
Course management is a must have for every golfer. This mental approach to golf (as course management is all mental) allows players to loop a course without exacerbating the difficulties of each round. It might seem daunting, but in reality course management is an easy process that helps all levels of golfers accentuate their strengths during every golf shot. There is a cerebral process to golf and it manifests through course management. Therefore, I recommend that learning about course management and what it means to your game is a must.
