Do you think it is too early to start preparing for golf season? Well, it might be a bit early to pull out all my clubs and give them a cleaning; yet, I do have the bug to start doing something. I have decided on where to start and really was not that difficult. With an extreme cold spell coming until early next week, I have a bit of time to prepare. For three years I have started the same way and it now time to take up the tradition.

During a recent conversation on Twitter with my friends Serge and Andre, we stumbled on a great topic. Actually, Andre is the person who first brought up his desire to lower his traveling handicap and that sparked a thought. I have spent years touting the benefits of creating a handicap index through Golf Canada and supporting your local golf course. I still adamantly support this view, but I wonder how solid my handicap index really is if I record 98% of my rounds on my home course!

There are about 504,000,000 putting tips on the internet. How do I know this, well I used google so it has to be completely true……right> 🙂 All joking aside, there are so many putting tips out there that I could not even describe the depth and berth of areas they cover. I have tried a bunch (number actually unknown) and some have helped. Others did not fit my putting game and had to be discarded. But, through all of my efforts to improve my short game I did find one putting tip that was a sure fire winner. It is something I always do and feel it is the primary reason for my success on the green.
