The proper alignment off the tee is important to low golf scores. I realize that this is an obvious statement, yet I watch many players forget to align their shot off the tee (and from the fairway). They pick a line, walk up to their ball and hit. Then wonder why their ball is not heading where they intended and they are left with a more difficult shot to the green. All because they were misaligned due to their an improper set up.
Before I let you know what I see as a quick fix, there is a great video by Dr Alison Curdt on alignment off the tee. But, I think I can offer a bit more advice.
The biggest mistake I notice with players who consistently hit wayward tee shots is that hey do not have a pre-shot routine. Many pick an aim point, but that is as far as it goes; they just walk up to their ball and hit away; regardless of how their body is aligned. It is a common mistake and can be easily fixed.
If you do not have a pre-shot routine, you should think about developing one.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
