If I knew then what I know now, would I be a better golfer? If I knew 40 years ago what it would take to be a scratch golfer, I might have changed my approach to my game. Would I have practiced more? Would I have purchased better equipment? Could I have played with more intent of lowering my scores? Ah, if I only knew then what I know now!

Rory McIlroy vs Tiger Woods – Was it Worth the Hype?
A long awaited head to head match between Rory McIlroy vs Tiger Woods happened yesterday at the Dell Technologies Match Play event at the Austin Country Club. Each made it out of their respective pools, but Rory was the more dominate of the players. His strong play has this season indicated that he was the favorite, but he was playing Tiger Woods. Therefore, nothing was certain or predictable in the lose a go home rounds.

I cannot say enough great things about Craig Moody and his staff at my home course of Osprey Links Golf Course. They are tireless workers and because their efforts, I am able to enjoy 7 months of fantastic golf on a fantastic golf course. Customer service is always mentioned in my articles, but the maintenance staff is often overlooked. They are as critical as the person the meets you at the proshop! You are on the 16th hole and need a birdie to keep pace with your opponent. At 14 feet, your right to left breaking putt will test all of your abilities and some! Not to mention to pressure of “having to make” a critical putt. Now we have a case of the ‘chicken and the egg’; does the mental fear affect your putting stroke or does your putting stroke affect your mental toughness? What a dilemma!
