How To Play Your Best Golf

Every golfer has a unique journey the is riddled with rough patches brushed over with outstanding results. It is the natural order of things there is only one way to play your best golf. Play golf like Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus or Bobby Jones; it is as simple as that. Obviously, this is an over simplification but if you can play like these legends then I tip my hat to your game. The problem that most golfers is that they try to play golf by aping a swing that they really cannot perform. I have followed that path myself until I learn a very import lesson that completely altered my approach and perspective of how to play my best golf!

Open To Golf Suggestions

Golf is a game that requires a fair bit of attention to master. I only know of a few players that I would consider to be naturals and even they have to put the time into be a better player. Generally, better players stick to their own game and avoid offering suggestions to less skilled players, even when asked. They understand that what works for them does not necessarily work for other players; especially if the receiver of the suggestion is not will to work on their game.

Does Your Game Progress Over The Golf Season?

I often wondered if my golf game improves over the course of the my golf season. It is important to me to keep my game progressing, but sometimes I think that I have hit my wall of success. I am not fussed by my lack of progress, but it is important that I at least feel that my game is improving over the course of the season. As I get older, I find that even small successes are enough to keep my motivation going forward. I do understand that at 60 years old, future success will be measured in smaller and smaller increments; and I am okay with that. How about you? Would small successes be enough for you to stay motivated?

Going Back To My Old Hitting Style

My experiment of swinging my driver to achieve a higher ball flight with my driver is officially over. I have tried different swing mechanics and none have produced any significant, consistent success off the tee. Thus, I have decided to stop fighting my natural swing because it was causing me nothing but frustration. It might seem like a strange topic to talk about, but I think it has value to any player trying to make changes to improve their game.

13th Annual Monaghan and Furry Friends Scramble Rocked!

The charity golf tournament I played in yesterday was fantastic. The point of the event was to raise money for North Bay and District Humane Society Adoption Centre project and from the looks of the smiling faces around the club house, this event was a huge success. Upon our arrival we registered and quickly headed to the lunch BBQ to scarf down a cheeseburger. With a full belly and water in hand, my group of regulars headed to our starting hole. The weather was fantastic and course (Osprey Links Golf Course) was in great shape. By all accounts, the day was going to be amazing!
