It is great to see that charity tournaments are back on the golfing schedule. For the longest time, we were unsure if they would be played given the new COVID policies at the golf course. However, with a few modifications to the tournament format, The Grateful Golfers, (Blair, Rick, Fernando, and myself) put in a team to support the local Humane Society. We tee it up tomorrow and I am just working out the strategy now.

Professional Golfers and Range Finders – Good or Bad Idea?
With the resumption of professional golf, I was wondering if it was time to make drastic changes as to how the professional measure distances on the golf course. Most of us have watch the yardage book and green sheets examined by the player and caddie with intense scrutiny. Obviously, the player is trying to dial in a perfect number to hit too, but would not a range finder make the process faster and more accurate?

Or, your course does not have a range so there is no place warm up and you duff your first tee shot. These are not unusual events in golf and as such the creation of the “breakfast ball” has gained significant popularity. It is a way to make golf fun and I think this is not such a bad idea.

And during other occasions where an inch in just off of my target resulted in amazing opportunities. Regardless of which side of the fence you are sitting, I experienced a shot two rounds ago where just a few inches more on my tee shot would have resulted in my fourth hole in one.
