My First Round of Golf Went as Expected

Yesterday, I played my first round of golf in 2017. My first round went much as I expected, but I did learn a few things that may or may not be incorporated in my training going forward.

As I stated earlier, yesterday was all about hitting the ball. I had no expectations about playing well, but just to have fun and hit the ball. I accomplished that and much more.

2017 Drive Chip & Putt National Finals

The fourth annual Drive Chip  & Putt Championship was held yesterday, 02 April 2017. This tradition at the Masters sees 80 young talented golfers pitting their skills against each other and Augusta National. As I watch these budding superstars perform, I am continually amazed at their composure, understanding of golf, and sportsmanship! For a list of all the results check out the interactive leaderboard. 2017 Toronto Golf Show – Final Thoughts

The Toronto Golf Show as a big success. I enjoyed my 4 hours of nirvana as I talked all things golf. I let you know about some of the sway I won and about the Wilson Staff Triton, but there were a few other things that I want to share.

Toronto Golf Show -The Kit Highlight

One of the interesting aspects of our trip to the Toronto Golf Show was the abundance of demo equipment. The usual big names were there and very busy all day. We waited for opportunities to hit the clubs and for the most part we were not disappointed.

Hitting new drivers and irons is always fun. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to hit them all. It is my experience that during demo days hitting into nets everything comes down to feel. How the ball feels off the club is the primary benchmark if I like a club or not. Continue reading

Toronto Golf Show – Winning Stuff

Winning golf stuff at anytime is fun. Most golfers will enter a draw or contest if there is a chance to win something cool, a free round or, well, anything golf. I am definitely in that category and it was evident last Friday. As many of my readers agree, winning stuff is half the fun of going to a golf show.
