The Theory of Fractions in Golf

The theory of fractions is a real thing. A millimeter (fraction of an inch) here and a millimeter there is the difference between a fantastic shot and, well, a mutter under our breath about our misfortune! Through the years, millimeters have changed the fortune of many rounds.

In golf, as opposed to any other sport, the slightest ‘anything’ will turn a poor shot into a magnificent one. Unfortunately, the opposite is true as well. Golf is such a game of fractions that it borders on the unbelievable. For those who are not really sure that the slightest movement in any direction makes a difference, then keep reading! When to Replace a Wedge

One of my most difficult decisions is when to replace one of my wedges. Of all my clubs, except my putter, my wedges are used the most. Mine are showing wear, but I am not sure it is time to try something new.

I have bought new equipment before and use a system that works without fail. I intend to follow it again, however for some reason I think I am leaving something out. Any advice you can give me would greatly appreciated! Continue reading

So What is Next in My Golfing World?

create a grateful golferThe 2016 golf season is over. The Ryder Cup was a fitting way to end a great year. We lost a giant in Arnold Palmer. Dustin Johnson and Brooke Henderson finally had their break out season that was expected by all. And Rory McIlroy salvaged his season by winning the FedEx Cup. The Real Ryder Cup Review for 2016

I am not one for stats in a competition like the Ryder Cup. Each player, regardless of their history have to perform when the time comes. I guess that is the same for every tournament, but a head-to-head event like the Ryder Cup is something special.

The 2016 Ryder Cup – Day 2

Day 2 of the 2016 Ryder Cup did not disappoint. Unfortunately, I did not see much, but reviewing all the action, I missed quite a bit. I am not surprised to see the US Team still up by 3, but it took an outstanding effort on Saturday afternoon to get there. They rallied when needed and their performance was unexpected by many golfing fans.

The match-ups were solid and the Team Captains did their job. The players executed as expected, however, Team USA rose to the occasion on Saturday afternoon and now need only 5 points to win their first Ryder Cup since 2008! Saturday was as exciting as moving day at the Majors! Continue reading
