Happy April Fools Day! As many of you know, it is a day to pull pranks and jokes on each other for the “fun” of it. Over the years, I experienced my share of jokes and looking back some were very funny. The origins of April Fools Day is a bit murky, however the intent to for some light-hearted laughter between friends.

Over the years, I was the recipient of  pranks on the golf course. They did not occur on April Fools Day, but they made for some laughter between friends for sure. I am not sure of your tolerance level of pranks of the golf course, but I do not mind the occasional prank to lighten the round. Continue reading

Mental Preparation for Golf Season

Golf season is almost here!

With golf season a couple of weeks away, I like to take the time to mentally prepare for playing golf. No, this is not another discussion on mental focus or toughness, although we could take about that for hours, but this is about mentally preparing to have fun.

Golf is a simple game, yet some players forget that it is a game. We are not professionals who rely on golf to pay the bills, it is an activity we intentionally dedicate time and money to enjoy. And if we are not enjoying it, what is the point!

Happy Easter

I am grateful!

As the sun wakes up and peeks through the trees, I am reminded of all the awesome things in my life for which I am grateful! I take the time everyday to say thank you and to cherish these special things.

Easter marks the last milestone of winter and the first major event of spring. Golf season is weeks away and The Masters is just around the corner! My excitement always grows this time of year; I am like a young child hunting for Easter treats!

I wish all of you a Happy Easter and hope your day is full of happiness and joy!

What To Write About in Golf

A good theme to write about?

What to write about everyday is a bit challenging some times. The topics generally pop into my head and I decide to put words to paper. I enjoy writing about golf and has become a passion of mine. However, some days I wonder if the topics I choose are hitting the mark.

Many of The Grateful Golfer readers are writers themselves and they understand my dilemma. Those who just enjoy reading, can likely associate my musing with something they have a passion for. Determining what to write about everyday is a challenge. Continue reading
