The Claret Jug

Congratulations to Shane Lowry on his win at The Open. Raising the Claret Jug is career highlight as this Irishman won in his home country. Royal Portrush played more difficult as the day continue due to inclement weather; yet, Lowry seemed to relish the tough conditions and played very well. With a four stroke lead starting the final round, he never seemed to be in danger of letting the field catch up. It is a great day for Irish golf.

Can You Feel It! It is Just Around the Corner!

With only 24 weeks until Christmas, we in the northern climes understand that the cool weather and white precipitation is only 16 weekish away. There is no time to waste as I have a few more golf goals to accomplish before the end of our season some time in October. I am not getting twitchy, but I feel the clock pounding in the background as I write this post!

Reciprocity in Golf

In social psychology, reciprocity is a social norm of responding to a positive action with another positive action, rewarding kind actions. (Wikipedia) For the most part, it should be the basic foundation of our society, but that is a much deeper topic than I want to explore. However, reciprocity in golf is a bit lighter and really plays an important roll in the how we play golf and how the golf industry will grow.

2-Man Scramble – Day Two

The final day went as expected. Blair and I needed a fast start and want to shoot between 6 and 8 under to have a chance at any of the prizes. Of course that was our goal going in and the challenge was to successfully execute that plan. We decided not to do anything significantly different except make a few more putts. At least it was a plan.
