Golfers Avoiding Other Sports

Do you avoid participating in other sports because you are afraid it will hurt your golf swing? I guess it depends on how avid of a duffer you really are to take things that seriously. I am lucky because I never really played sports like baseball, hockey, or tennis enough where those swing techniques crept into my golf game. However, at my current stage in life, I definitely would avoid all three. Golf is my focus and I do not need competing swing techniques. Do you?

“It Does Not Matter What Club You Use”

If nothing else happens today, Rory McIlroy’s words of wisdom should be taken to heart by all amateurs. Rory is talking about the crazy long distances at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship at Mexico City cause by elevation. Regardless, his interview about knowing your club distances and trusting them is not profound, but a sound piece of advice. Have you ever wondered why amateur golfers rarely give any putting tips? Of course, our friends offer many suggestions on a sure fire way to lower your golf scores, but they generally are a description on how they putt and not a stroke that fits your game. Putting is challenging and it is a stroke that is unique to every golfer. Of course there is an 80% solution for putting as most strokes I have observed have these fundamental tendencies.
