Feeling Gratitude Than Needs To Be Shared

Yesterday, I had a routine medical procedure to ensure that my health is on a positive path. As it turned out, the procedure went very well and I feel great. It was maintenance thing that needs to be performed every 5 years. Now that I briefly outlined the situation, I need to share why I am feeling gratitude!

Making An Unexpected Long Putt

We have all made long putts before. I am not sure the longest I have ever made, but I am confident it was similar (probably longer 😉 ) to Adam Schenk at the Valspar Championship on the weekend. Schenk just looked it over and slammed his ball into the cup. It was an amazing shot and it help him maintain his lead during his round. It was very nice to watch and reminded me of how following a putting process helps improve our chances to making such putts. It is not complicated, but is a necessity.

Driver Spin Destroys Distance

Too often I hit what I think are great drives only to realize that the distance was not near what I expected. Although I hit my driver very well, there are times when my ball seems to fall out of the air for no reason. Well, after some research (in the past) I realized that I created too much spin on the ball when hitting my driver. Two Vintage Must Attend Golf Events Are Quickly Approaching

The Vintage Golf Collectibles Sale and Trade Show is quickly coming. Hosted by the Golf Historical Society of Canada, this trade show looks to be a must attend event. The interesting thing about this event is that it is taking place at the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame at the Glen Abby Golf Club. If you are interested in vintage clubs, hearing fantastic stories from the Historical Societies president, Lorne Emery, or just browsing for some new/old clubs then the trade show is the place to be.

Additionally, the World Hickory Golf Day is quickly approaching. If you want to play in event hosted by the Golf Historical Society of Canada, then see the flyer below. I have played in an hickory event and it is great fun. If you are able, I recommend you attend this fun golf tournament.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

Why Hit A Three Wood Off The Tee

I often thought that hitting a 3 wood off the tee was ‘the smart shot’. I was told that it was the safe shot and that it provides a better opportunity for hitting the ball in play off the tee. Apparently, according to Mark Crossfield, this is a misnomer. There is a very slight difference in the ball in play percentage between the 3 wood and driver, yet the distance is fairly significant. So I ask again, why hit the three wood off the tee?
