Developing A Powerful Golf Swing

There are times that I have challenges casting my golf club. Releasing my wrists too early to a point where I loose up to 20 yards distance with my driver. I do not do this intentionally, however it mostly happens when I try to extend my normal driving distance. I try to speed up my golf swing and as a result my mechanics become out of sync. We know from experience that poor golf swings are the result of poor mechanics and trying to develop power without practice is a known challenge. In my golf swing, tempo is very important because my balance and swing mechanics rely on tempo to produce consistent results. Over the past few years, I have tried (to no avail) to increase the power my golf swing produces and I have found a simple tip that should help. It uses a toilet paper roll and a golf club. Interested, the read on!

Stop Hurrying Our Golf Shot

There are many golf shot routines offered by an equal number of ‘experts’. Over the years I watched many great players hit golf balls and none were exactly the same. Many had things in common, but none were identical. The reason for this disparity is that each routine is tailormade for the individual. Each player has a different physique, swing path, and capabilities. Having said this, there are some commonalities that provide a starting point for players. Three points offered by Chris Ryan are something that I do and have included them in my routine on almost every shot. They are simple, repeatable and do not take a great deal of practice to master; traits I always look for in golf tips.

How To Expand Your Golf Game

Do you do the same thing every time your practice or hit the links? Are you always looking for the next great club that will improve your game? Are you looking for that new technique that will change your game? There seems to be a plethora of ways to improve or expand our golf game if we really are looking. After an awesome discussion with Lorne Emery, President of the Golf Historical Society of Canada, he convinced me that looking backward might offer an easy way to lower our golf scores. As you might remember, I have recently decided to join the GHSC and venture down the road of hickory shaft golf clubs and I think I have found a new way to expand my game!

2023 Ground Hog Day!

Every 365 days Groundhog Day rolls around. Today all golfers in the northern climes wait in anticipation for the weather prediction of rodents: Wiarton Willie and Punxsutawney Phil. The pressure exuded by golfers on these special creatures to predict an early spring is overwhelming. Each year as these loveable creatures climb out of their hole, millions of eyes are focused on their every move; if they see their shadow and scurry back home to safety, it means that golfers will have to wait an additional 6 weeks for winter to slowly become a distant memory.

Unfinished Business On The Golf Course!

I have never played a round of golf where I did not think I had unfinished business on the golf course. Yup, even breaking par I thought that I could have shot a lower score. As my friend Kevin reads this article, I know he feels the same way….most of the time. 😉 Although I think I can always do better I wonder if this is really true. Each round of golf is a unique experience because I have never hit the same 75 strokes from the same position ever! After thousands for rounds, every round played out differently and needed to be navigated like it was my first round. This is the fun of golf and I hope that the feeling of unfinished business never changes.
