Not surprisingly, Tiger Woods has chosen The Masters to make is return to golf. Other than it is good for ratings that Woods is playing, I do not think he will be a factor on Sunday. I am not trying to be mean or controversial, I think that The Masters is hard to win when you are at 100% and Tiger is just not there. I think he will add a tremendous amount of start power to this weekends play…..not that The Masters needs a hype boost. Regardless of what I think, Tiger Woods is returning to golf this weekend and that is good for golf.

It is Masters week! I am confident that if you have any interest in golf you have reserved your seat on the couch ready for the action. Even if you decide to travel out of the country during the Masters weekend, I am confident your are watching the leaderboard. A putting routine is likely the most important golf process that any player can develop. The best players in the world definitely spend a great deal of time reinforcing their putting prowess and as I watch Tiger Woods, a pre-shot routine can be simple and easily repeatable. It is interesting to listen to Tiger Woods talk through his putting process as one of the greatest players of all time shares his secrets.

I have often wondered what we consider a true golf legend. Is it stellar play like Scottie Scheffler who rocketed to number one in the world in just 42 days that makes you a legend? Or is it a player like Sam Snead with a longevity of wins that makes you a legend? Or is it somewhere in between? To truly be a legend in a sport might be determined by the individual and not the collective.
