As I navigated the holiday season, I found my attention being drawn in multiple directions simultaneously. This is not surprising because of the significant increase in sensory data that constantly bombarded my 3-foot space. It was overwhelming sometimes, but I was able to keep my sanity by shutting off all the white noise and focus my thoughts in only a few areas at once. What I found is that I was filling my mind with nonsense and realized that to function properly I needed to focus. Boy that sounds very familiar to when I am hitting a golf shot!

Unlike last year, there will be in store sales this boxing day. In the past, I would sometimes check things out just incase they drastically reduce the price of certain items. Well, this year I do not see anything different than in the past. Additionally, I feel zero compulsion to engage in non-essential shopping, eating and socializing especially given the change in the community over the past month. So, I have decided to just relax and enjoy more quality time with my family.

Staying Focused On Your Contact Point
Every golfer must perform certain, basic movements in order to maximize their swing potential. Of these, there are more important than others. Only you will know for sure which movements or non-movements are critical to hitting your ball as intended and it is part of your journey to find out. Personally, I have one that is probably the most critical to my swing and I have to use it every time I put a club in my hands.

I cannot tell a lie. Sometimes, I purposely engage my wrists to apply extra spin on the ball with the intent of stopping the ball the faster. Of course this foolish attempt to place extra action on the ball usually ends in failure. Most of the time I end up flipping my wrists and my ball ends up short. Then I remind myself that I need to keep my hands quiet to ensure that my club does all the work and reap all the benefits.
