When I miss the green from time to time 😉 I have to rely on my chipping to keep my scores low. Unlike many players, I do not rely on just one club from 20 yards and closer. I have learned over the years that I need to used five different clubs, dependent on the situation, to successfully hit my ball within three feet. Believe me, over the years I have have dueled with the frustration monster, but it was worth every battle!

As you can surmise from the title, our 3-person scramble did not go as well as we had hoped. Regardless of our play, we had a fantastic time and enjoyed our time playing “whack-where did that go?” As I had thought before we teed it up, GIR was the critical factor for scoring. A particular stat we did not excel in at all. Regardless, I am still a grateful golf and looking forward to Tuesday when we play again.

Today, I am playing in a 3-person with my friends Blair and Rick. It is going to be a great time and our results will depend on who shows up today. All three of us have struggled at various times, however when we are all on, we have a good chance to be in the prizes. Regardless, I like to play with a strategy….at least for the first few holes. 😉

With the goal to be a scratch golfer, I am always asking myself what I can do get to the next level. I am currently holding a 3.8 handicap index and to get it to zero will take (I suspect) more than I am probably willing to commit. But, I am not willing to give up on my goals just yet. If nothing else, it will keep my driving towards something that will continue to improve my golf game.

My last 27 holes of golf were in very wet conditions. Because of this, I had go adjust many things about my game. This is not an unusual occurrence and is that happens several times throughout the year. Because of these changes (which I will outline below), my course management strategy needs tweaking and so does my swing plane. It all seems very complex, but in fact it really is not that difficult; it is all about adjusting the the playing conditions.
