On Wednesday, I participated in my second Men’s Night in two years. Osprey Links Golf Course reserves Wednesday night for men to gather, play golf, eat a great meal and enjoy the company of strangers. Each week, we play a different game and last Wednesday, we played ‘Vegas Scramble’. This is a fun game that provided 92 players the excitement of the unknown on each tee shot!

We have discussed this before and now I have an excel tracking sheet that will cover the core stats needed to help me focus in areas I need to practice. Over 40+ years of golf, I have shot some fairly poor rounds. It is ‘those’ efforts I choose to forget (or at least try too!). They do not hold any personal significance to my life and actually are not really much of a teaching moment either. However, they do happen and as such cannot be completely ignored.

It finally happen last Saturday! I was able to play 18 holes of golf because our course was finally dry enough to open the front 9. The front was a bit beat up and there were 2 temporary greens, but I am grateful to the staff at Osprey Links for all their dedicated work to bring the course to a point were we can loop 18 holes. Well, I must say it was fun and challenging at the same time!

Recently, I ran a couple of polls to see if players actually use the new rules of golf or at least ask for rulings. I figure with the changes made to modernize golf, it would be worth asking the question of regular players if they need assistance implementing the changes. I must say, I am not surprised at the results, but it is something to think about.
