Putting With The Flag In….or Not!

Of course one of the new rule changes is being able to putt with the pin in. Bryson DeChambeau ‘scientifically prove’ that there is a benefit and as such was the first pro to consistently leave the pin while on the green. I decided to test this new approach early in my season and have concluded that it may not be for everyone; especially me; sort of; well, kind of actually!

My Handicap Index Is In Correction Mode!

At the beginning of each golf season, my handicap index tailspins into correction mode. This year is no different except I did not play any substantial golf last year to help stem the tide. So, as I record my games at the Golf Canada website, my index is starting to rise. I am not sure how far my index will rise, but I am mentally prepared for whatever my game will present.

Oh No! Not Another Lost Ball

At the beginning of every golf season, I am amazed at how many golf balls I and my group can loose. Mostly, my ball decides to go for a swim and there is very little I can do anything about it. One would think that with such a potential for a loss, I would carry a ball retriever. However, I do not and have not had one for many, many years.

Play Better Golf – Starting With My Putting

I can say that my game is starting to improve. This is no surprise given the time of year, yet there is one area where I am every please with and hope it continues. That is my putting. I have a solid feel for the greens and have only a few 3-putts this year. This is a great thing because my touch on the greens will only get better.
