How Long is Your Golf Tee?

As with all things in golf, the length of the golf tee is regulated. The rules lay down that it can be no longer than a specific length to conform with rules of golf. To be honest, I have never thought about this rule before, nor have I heard of anyone being called for being in violation of the rule. So, I would assess that for most of us, it is a nonissue and one that may never be used.

I am mystified by the USGA’s decision to disallow the use of an elementary compass by any golfer. This simple device (the bane of many middle schoolers’ lives) is a fundamental tool used when studying geometry. My Worst Swing and Best Shot in a Golf Tournament!

I have made some ugly shots over the years. I do not ever remember missing the ball, but whatever is next on the rug of poor shots, I was there. However, I can say that none of those really compare to what I consider my worst shot ever in a golf tournament. To describe the setting, I have to set the clock back about 30 years to a military regional competition I played in Kingston. To this day, I am still embarrassed that I played such an ugly shot.
