Golf – A Matter of Perspective

Writing about golf is fun, entertaining, and educational. There is an endless pool of topics to choose from that may help someone smile, learn or become frustrated. I often find it interesting how a single article can spark a heated conversation between two people and yet the same article has two different people nodding in agreement! Of all the different areas of golf that influence our game, which golf ball is best for us is the most confusing for me. When choosing a golf ball, the options are endless. I have played around with different golf ball to use over the years, but I have never focused on anything specific or the reasons for choosing any specific ball.

Golf Canada Handicap Changes for 2016-2017

Golf Canada put out is annual changes to how it plans to govern in 2016 – 2017. If you have not read the details, let me save you some time.

Blah, Blah, Blah, we change our mind on solo rounds – Blah, Blah, Blah!

Okay, that was a little harsh, but like many other amateurs, Golf Canada’s decision in November of 2015 not to follow the USGA’s crazy idea of disallowing solo rounds for a handicap was applauded by the Canadian golfing masses! So what changed?

Divots on the Driving Range

Yesterday, I had a great conversation on Twitter with a couple of Grateful Golfers. Barry was asking about how divots should be made on the golf course to best protect our driving ranges. Setting Up a Golf Hole

Golf is an amazing sport because of the countless possibilities each hole offers every time we play it. If you play a hole 100 times, the variables of wind, distance, and tee block placement make that hole dead easy or crazy difficult! Most course superintendents take pride in setting up each hole so all players get the maximum enjoyment out of their time on the links. However, every once in a while a hole slips through the cracks and this happens!
