What does “find my swing groove” really mean? I did a fair bit of research and I came up with about 1000 different answers. Of course, this deluge of white noise is never any good when trying to sift through the mire, but I was able to come up with a couple of short videos that helped me understand that when grooving my golf swing, I need to take “how does it work for me” approach. I cannot tell you how to groove your swing, but I can offer a couple of tidbits of information that might help you hit the ball more consistently and effortlessly.

I actually never practiced for the first 15 years after I swung my first club. I play a great deal and I guess that was considered my practice. On many golf courses, the fairway is lined with a first cut where the grass about twice as long (or more) than the fairway. Generally the ball is about half cover and this creates the potential for grass getting between the club face and ball on contact. In many instances, this causes the ball to release farther when landing on the green because of the lack of spin caused by the grass. However, I have found a solution to this that I think might be helpful for your game.

The seven iron is a very versatile club because it can be used in a plethora of situations. I use this club quite often during around of golf as it has proven its worth over the many years of my playing. The one area I have found the most benefit is around the green, I use my 7 iron like a putter whenever possible so I can get the ball rolling to the hole soonest. I believe that I save two stokes around and that is a very good thing when you are a low single digit handicapper. Let me explain further.
