The 2016 Ryder Cup – Advice

It is difficult to imagine what is going through the mind of the players preparing for the Ryder Cup. Each will have their own methods of preparing for the most famous team competition in golf! Regardless of how they prepare, it is important that on Friday morning, they bring their A game.

Reading many articles on the Ryder Cup, I can honestly say that there is plenty of ‘white noise’ that might be a distraction to the competitors. Keeping the players focused is the heavy task of the Team Captain and the Vice Captains. Chosen for their experience and understanding of what the players are going through, they will likely offer sage advice, however it is ultimately the job of the players to step up and play well.

The Extra Gear in Golf

Do you have the ability to step up your game for a short period in the attempts to improve your score? As I watch some of the pros focus on their rounds, it seems that, in some instances, they can reach deep and squeeze out the extra 25 yards off the tee or an extra 15 yards with their wedge on an approach shot. Am I crazy or what?

I know that in some sports that extra shot of adrenaline will make a player run faster, jump higher or perform feats of strength. I have always accepted these amazing movements as a part of sports, but I was never convinced that golfers had that ability. Now, I am not so sure.

Walking 27 Holes in Golf

Not the brightest decision of my golfing season. On Wednesday past, I did just that….I walked 27 holes carrying my clubs. I have carried for 18 holes plenty of times, but 27 holes, very rarely. As I looped the course, I realized that carrying clubs for 6 hours is not an easy feat.

As I was entering my 5th hour, I started to think about the benefits and necessities of carrying a golf bag for so long. As I thought about it later, I realized a couple of important tips that might be of use to everyone. You never know who is going to want to loop 27 holes carrying their golf bag.
