Playing Golf in the Wind

“When it’s breezy, swing easy”! Yesterday was a test of my ability to play golf in the wind. If you are not used to shooting your best golf in windy conditions, then my round was not for you. Although the sun was shining, the 30-35 kph breeze lowered the temperature a fair bit. Not to worry, I was dressed in layers and was completely prepared.

I can honestly admit that my knowledge and skill is not where I need it when playing in a strong wind. Other than just playing, it is something that I tolerate and do not practice. Recently, I stumbled across this article on Twitter by Real Golf Irish  and I thought it was well worth sharing.

Risk Reward on the Golf Course

Golf is all about Risk Reward. During every shot, we weigh the advantages and disadvantages of which club to use, the weather, the lie and the possible outcome. This is an exciting aspect of golf that never gets boring.

Tiger Woods is Coming Back, Again!

The golfing world is a buzz with the news that Tiger Woods plans to make his return to golf after a year of rehabilitation. The Last Quarter of the 2016 Golf Season

The seasons change very quickly once September arrives. It feels like just last week we were suffering through a heat wave. Now, it is below 10 degrees Celsius in the morning. Although refreshing, it is an eye opener for many golfers.

Early birds start to become a thing of the past because of the cool temperatures and very wet grass. Golf finishes by 8 pm instead of 9:30 pm. Layers of clothes creep into our golf bags as we prepare for the next two months of golf season. Continue reading

Golf – My Evolving Perspective

Success in golf is measured in many forms. Regardless of where you stand, a particular golf shot may be considered awesome, average, or sub-par. The conditions by which everyone looks at a particular shot is really a matter of perspective.

Golf – A Matter of Perspective is an article I wrote at the beginning of 2016 that outlines my philosophy on how golf shapes my life. I still stand by what I said, however, just 8 short months later, I find my perspective evolving. Continue reading
