Fall Golf Is Upon Us

As the summer transitions to fall, I need to take steps to be prepared for the change in weather and course conditions. As it turns out for the next two weeks, we are going to experience an average daily temperature of 18° C (65° F). This means lots of dew in the morning, less carry because it is cooler, and less touch when chipping because my ball will be harder. Fear not, I am used to this time of year and have a fail proof plan!

Opening My Mind To All Possibilities To Lower My Golf Score

The ultimate goal of every golfer is to continuously shoot low golf scores. It makes sense because we would not keep score otherwise. To achieve the milestone of best round ever, I need to ensure that I am ready to accept the possibilities to improve my game. It is not really a challenge to try, but it is a challenge to accept the results when it flies in the face of the golf path your are travelling. Working On My Tempo To Lower My Golf Scores

Golf swing tempo is very personal and one-size does not fit all. Each player has their own tempo and it is unique to their abilities (both physically and mentally). It was a great day on the golf course! The next round, thinking to build on our last round successes, yet nothing works. We chopped more wood than a lumberjack and no matter what we try we cannot figure out what was wrong. To me the answer is simple; we do not understand what works in our golf game to consistently make it successful!

Changing Golf Stats To Measure GIR

Up until now, I have measured my first putt distance on all shots and broke it down further into GIR distances. This state has been helpful, but as my rounds pile up, it is becoming less and less valuable as I will explain below. As a result, I have decided to change my tracking numbers to focus on GIR or more specifically approach shots. I feel that this change will be more beneficial than my putting distances and hopefully this change will result in lower golf scores.
