Is it easy to consistently break 90? Depending on who you ask, the answer is a resounding yes or no! Developing a consisting swing is definitely the desired step, however this is not always the case and as such, other strategies are needed to for the player looking to lower their score below bogey golf. It is definitely possible, but will take effort to achieve this momentous milestone.

Fixing Your Golf Swing Is All About Filling In The Gaps
Every golfer has something that they want to improve. It does not matter if the player is a professional or a beginner; something needs improving. In my case it is my entire game….well okay, things are not that drastic. Personally, if could filling in a weakness in my game, it would be my approach shots from 160 to 140 yards. I think that if I could improve that distance, my game would improve the most. Lowering our golf scores is about filling in in the gaps!

A couple days ago, I played at Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort. It is a par 37, 9 hole golf course in my local area. It was the first time I played this course in 2020, but have played it many times in the past. The aspect I like about this course is that only use a driver on five holes. The rest of the time I used an iron or my 3 hybrid. When using different clubs off the tee, it is important to have a distance left to the green in mind before teeing it up to ensure you use the correct club.

This post is a follow on from my ‘How To Play An Approach Shot From 50 Yards‘ back in May. I floated the idea of using a pitching wedge to basically drive to the ball softly to the green. It is working so well that I have expanded this type of approach shot out to 150 yards. It is not a difficult shot, but allows me to stay in control during adverse weather conditions. It is really working for me and it might for you as well.
