Taking A Different Approach To Playing Golf

Playing the same course round after round tends to produce a stale golf game. My membership at Osprey Links is fantastic and the value for my money is definitely there; however, I do find that my game does following similar paths each time I tee it up. So, yesterday I decided to do something different to shake up my play and I am happy to report that I was successful in my endeavour.

First Round Match Play Adventures

The Osprey Links Golf Course Stroke and Net Match Play Championships are well under way and the scores are starting to roll in. I have played two matches myself and had a great time during both rounds. I played one match on each the stroke and net side, but with different results. The score was secondary as I played golf with two great guys and I hope I have the opportunity to play another round with them this year.

Having Fun On The Golf Course

Having fun on the golf course is a primary goal of any golfer. Realistically, if we are not having fun (even on the bad days) why spend 4 hours-ish looping around 18 holes. Playing our best game is always a good way to turn up the fun meter, but that is not always the case. Others play side games for cash or bragging rights. An others just play for the fun of playing. There are a plethora of options and one that I like is playing head to head on a challenging hole…..just like Wolff, Morikawa and Johnson did at the 10th hole at Riviera.

Maybe Golf Is Not Over In 2020

Next week the weather is suppose to take a turn for the better. On a couple of days, it is suppose to be above 15° C (60° F) and for the middle of October, that is amazing. After not playing for 2 weeks, I am getting the itch to swing my clubs one more time. I am still playing ping pong in my mind about playing, but I leaning towards dusting off the sticks.
