Today, I am playing in a three person scramble with Blair and Rick. It is an annual event that we like to participate in and depending on how things roll, we can finish in the money. Over the years, we have tried different approaches, but this year I think we should up the ante and try to play for first place. I realize we do each year, but it seems that we finish in the middle of the top third of most events. Not this year because we are going to take a new approach.

Senior Men’s Ryder Cup Competition
Yesterday, I played in the first leg of the Ontario Northern Region Senior Men’s Ryder Cup competition. I was invited to join the 8 man team and I am grateful for being asked to compete. My partner, Wes Burton (same last name but not related), and I had a fantastic time and once we got our legs underneath us, charged forward to win 4 of 6 points in our scramble, match play grouping. It was the first time I played the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club and I can say I was not disappointed.

Today is the first round of the 2-person SportsPal tournament at Osprey Links Golf Course. It is one of the biggest tournaments of the year and my friend Blair and I have entered. We have played in this event before and finished near the bottom of the Championship flight (and out of the prizes). This year we are hoping to improve on our standings and walk away with a bit of the prize purse.

It is finally here, yesterday I played in the last Men’s Night of the year. It was a wet (big surprise) and cool, but loads of fun. We played rotating tees where we cycled through blue, white and gold tees. It was the first time played this format and we had a blast. Overall, last nights game was a good way to finish playing Men’s Night at Osprey Links.

Today, I am playing in a 3-person with my friends Blair and Rick. It is going to be a great time and our results will depend on who shows up today. All three of us have struggled at various times, however when we are all on, we have a good chance to be in the prizes. Regardless, I like to play with a strategy….at least for the first few holes. 😉
