Winning a Scramble Tournament

On Friday past, I played in a work scramble tournament. It is low-key annual event that saw over 100 participants. The great majority of players were beginners or those who only play a couple of times a year, so the focus of the event was having fun. As a top player at 22 Wing, there was a high expectation from everyone that my team would win. Well, my team did not disappoint and we eventually won with a minus 7. A Busy Three Weeks Golfing

Yesterday I completed all my scheduled travels and now it is time to concentrate on my golf game. In the next three weeks, I have 4 tournaments and one possible golf course review. I am excited to playing regularly and hopefully this constant play will result in lower and lower golf scores.

Intersection Golf Final – The Results

Yesterday I competed in the 22 Wing intersection golf finals. The format for the intersection matches was a 2-person scramble / match play. After 5 months of league play, it all came down to one match between the two top teams. The league play set the ranking for the playoffs and since our team finished highest in the standings we were given the number one spot.

Having defeated the number 4 team last week, it was time to face the 2nd ranked team, as they also won last week. Walking towards the first tee, all four players knew that this year’s final would be a seesaw battle. And what a match it was! Continue reading

Intersection Golf – The Finals

I am playing in the finals of intersection golf today! It is a two-person scramble / match play event over 18 holes. My partner is very strong, so we have a good chance to bring home the trophy for our Unit!

Finding Inspiration on the Golf Course

I thought that finding inspiration on the golf course was an easy thing. It is easy to hit a good ball and realize that you found a  fix for a current woe. It is easy to watch a beautiful sunrise and be caught up in the breath-taking moment. It is easy to foster the desire to play golf regularly. These situations, and many others, can inspire golfers to want to play golf. I have discussed many of these positive and inspiring events at The Grateful Golfer, but after being partnered with Les last Wednesday for Men’s Night, I am not so sure I understood the meaning of inspiration.
