With Justin Rose shooting even par yesterday, he opened the door for the rest of the field to narrow his four stroke lead. It is not as if Rose failed to score well, shooting even par, it just that the other players took advantage of the better scoring conditions. I am actually surprised at how many players actually shot under par (11 on day one); 38 players were in red numbers on day two with Bernd Wiesberger and Tony Finau shooting 66. The conditions must have been very friendly to scoring to have just under half the players shooting under par. Yesterday was atypical and all the movement reminded me of what should happen today – moving day!

Hello Justin Rose A Possible 2021 Masters Champion
Firing a seven under par 65 on the opening day at Augusta National sure sets Justin Rose as the possible favourite for don this year’s Green Jacket. He started off poorly, with two bogeys in the seven holes, then fired a improbable nine under for the last 11. Talk about a dramatic turn around that might lead to Butler’s Cabin. He sure blew my picks out of the water, but wait it is still early and there is plenty of golf still left to play.

There is no doubt in my mind that all golfers struggle. No matter how great or experienced of a player we are…..poor things happen from time to time. It is now the end of the world (no really it is not), but sometimes it sure feels that way. Regardless of your shot, it is important not to implode and to respond properly when the train runs off the rails.

After taking a share of the lead at the end of day two, Dustin Johnson cruised to his first green jacket and second Major. After finishing second last year to Tiger Woods, it must be an amazing feeling to have Tiger Woods pass the baton. The Masters, in my opinion, the pinnacle of any professional golfers career. This highlight is only accentuated for Dustin Johnson because he also holds the record for lowest total score in tournament history (taken from Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth). It is a great day for DJ and it is well deserved.
