In golf, animal hazards are not as uncommon as most people think. Sometimes, interference by an animal can make you laugh or cause disbelief, but it will never cost you strokes.
Rule 18 – Ball at Rest Moved.
Rule 18-1. By Outside Agency – If a ball at rest is moved by an outside agency, there is no penalty and the ball must be replaced.
This video was sent to me by a friend. Enjoy!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links…..very soon!
Jim,
I was playing with my wife once- we were walking away from the green to the next hole when a small bird dove squawking after my wife. haha- I was having a good laugh until it noticed me and re-focused its energy on chasing me down and out of there. (serves me right!)
After the round was over, we found a notice at the club house that it was mating season and “beware of the aggressive bird on 16” after the round was over.

That is a funny story! I am sure your wife had the best and last laugh! Crows used to steal our hotdogs on the 10th tee at our course in Ottawa….very disturbing to watch your meal go flying away.

My only animal story in golf concerns a stag, complete with a set of huge antlers running at full speed into the side of my BMW while I was driving to the course. No dropped shots but lost a bucket load of dollars getting the car repaired.

That sucks. I have been fortunate enough to see plenty of animals, but nothing has ever happened.

Jim, good video, thanks for sharing. Once a dog stole my ball while it was in motion on the putting green. I swear that 40-footer was going in but I had to replace and replay. Of course I three-putted!
Thanks!

Jim,
It has never happened to me, but I’ve witnessed it happen to my wife last season. Her ball was in the middle of the fairway (as usual) and a huge Raven landed and picked up her ball and flew away with it! Definitely had a good laugh

It has never happened to me either. Nor have I seen it happen, but I have heard some stories! They are definitely worth a good laugh.
