With only two days left before the ceremonial tee off, the hype is starting to take on a life of its own. The par 3 event is tomorrow and I am looking forward to the fun the players have with their families. I enjoy seeing the kids out there because it reminds me that golf is a social thing. What is better than sharing our passion with the ones we love…..nothing!

One of my favourite traditions is the life long exemption for past winners. I like watching the great players of the past still trying to tame Augusta National. I provides hope for us older players that we can still look the course and compete against the younger players. And in many cases still beat them!
This year there are 20 past champions teeing it up. My favourites to watch will be Mike Weir, because he is Canadian; Freddie Couples, he is always a favourite of mine; Bernard Langer, I think he can still win another green jacket; and Ian Woosnam, you just never know what he will do! I am not sure how many of the 20 will make the cut, but I will predict that at least 10 will be around for the weekend!
Tomorrow I am going to offer my picks for this year. I am still mulling, so I cannot even provide a hint on where I am leaning. Regardless, I think that like other years The Masters is going to provide some awesome action and many surprises.
What is the thing you like the most about The Masters?
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim,
There are many things I enjoy about the first major of the year, but really my favourite is the look of the course. There is just something about turning on the TV to watch it for the first time and seeing Augusta and how truly amazing it is. The course is always in phenomenal condition, the people who maintain it do not get enough credit. Only a few more days!
