Playing In A Charity Scramble Today

Today I am reuniting with my old crew. We signed up to play in a four person in support of 13th Annual Monaghan and Furry Friends Scramble. Proceeds from this year’s event support the North Bay and District Humane Society Adoption Centre project – now under construction! This will be the third time we play in the shotgun scramble and has become a yearly must play event. Hosted at Osprey Links Golf Course, I expect the event will be well organized and our treatment will be outstanding (as usual). There is no real winner of the event except for all the participants!

Do we have any strategy? Well, not really. I plan to hit last as per our previous events and never have to putt. It has worked for us in the past and I am expecting that it will again. Today is all about having fun and enjoying a round with my close friends. How grateful am I!

Of course I do have some expectations about our play today. I am expecting we will shoot an 8 under because I think we can. It really all depends on how we chip and putt. These, as always, are the key to low golf scores in a scramble. I will report more about our match tomorrow or the next day.

Regardless, I am looking forward to playing today and I would be remise not to thank the sponsors for supporting this year’s tournament including Pet Valu North Bay, 106.3 Moose FM, Tim Hortons, The Co-operators, Farquhar Chrysler, Rebuilt Resources, Kenalex Development Ltd, Canadian Hock Exchange, Osprey Links and Casey’s Grill Bar.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
