Yesterday I hit the links for my first full round of golf with my modern clubs. As I walked to the first tee, I felt the overwhelming joy I feel every year when I start my golf season. For this round I decided to just have fun by focusing on my score, the lower the better.😂 Okay, back to reality – I decided to just swing away and let the ball go where it may. And it did travel with a mind of its own! I played okay, but did not break any records.

I had some highlights such as two birdies and no doubles or others. To be fair, I did play winter rules and cleaned my ball when it was covered with mug. Also, I there may have been a few foot wedges involved. But, I was alone and I am my own judge about what was fair. Basically, it was no pressure round with no expectations.

I did have a consistent challenge, however, throughout my entire round. If I was going to miss, it was left. I pulled many shots left. This is not unusual for so early in my season. The good thing was that I did not pull it enough to lose a ball. Some were close and I had to chip out once, but no lost balls yesterday. My best shot of the day was my first tee shot. It hit the fairway and I was thrilled. 😉

I was thrilled to play golf yesterday. Mentally, it help shoo away the winter doldrums. It was refreshing, invigorating, and energizing. With such a short golf season, everyday I hit the links is precious. And no matter what happens on the course, I am always grateful!
