Golf Season Is Over – So, Now What?

This time of year happens without fanfare. At the end of each golf season, I wonder what I am going to do with my extra time. Of course this is said with tongue and cheek because I always seem to fill my time with something. After washing my clubs yesterday, sad day for me, I came to realize that I am on the back nine of my career. Time is clicking away and as such the number of times I will hit the links is becoming limited. At this time, the only thing stopping me for golfing (excluding the cold weather for the next six months) is myself. Life has so much to offer and I want to do it all. Hence, golf sometimes takes a back seat and that is okay. With all this in mind, what is next? What am I going to do for the next six months as I wait for my local course to reopen?

I could say the usual that I am going to get fit, I am going to focus on my game strategy and I am going……

We all know that this is a hit and miss as six months is a long time. To be fair, I plan to get healthier. What exactly that means at this time I am not sure. I know what needs to be accomplished to move in that direction and it will happen. Today, I already have a bunch of things to do. Sound about right for someone who is procrastinating….. 😉 Fear not, things will happen as they should as they do all the time.

I do know that I will start writing more. During the summer, I lost touch of daily posts and hopefully, I can get back to the that routine. I enjoy writing about golf as much as playing. I might try and expand my writing focus, but I am not sure where at this time. Regardless, writing is a great way to pass the time in the winter and as such, it will be part of my routine.

I did clean my clubs yesterday before storing them for the winter. I found that task is like closing the books on another season. I store my clubs in the house and keep the cold temperatures away as to not hurt the composite nature of my hybrids and woods. I am thinking about changing the make up of my clubs, but time will tell after I do a bit a research. This process of looking at my equipment is a constant in the offseason and is something I enjoy doing. It helps pass the time when I am doing research I am interested is doing.

Lastly, I am going to remain grateful. Grateful for a loving and supporting family, the ability to still play golf, and those in my three foot space who put up with my golf talk. I am leading a blessed life and I will remain grateful.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
