Supporting Your Local Golf Course Is Just Plain Smart

I like finding as much golf value for the buck as I can. I hunt for deals and try to stretch my money as far as possible. I think that most golfers are like me and spend their money at many golf stores other than at their local golf course. Over the years, I learned that if I take the time to talk the pro at my local proshop, I make an equal or better deal than I can anywhere else. In those cases, I save money and have instant access to the equipment I am trying to buy. Not only do I save money, but I am supporting my local golf course and that is just smart!

Ouch, That Hurts!

Have you ever swung a golf club and felt the vibration of the shot through your whole body. I know we feel many miss hits in our hands or arms, but a whole body awakening is a rare thing. I have felt a few of these through the years, but only on in 2020. It was in the fall and things were a bit cool, but not overly cold; so, the temperature really did not have anything to do with the shock of my shot. It actually was something different.

Aiming Each Shot Is Critical In Golf

I have talked about aiming each golf in previous posts. I used the Greg Norman view of ‘aim small miss small’! I hold to this approach and it works well for my game. I found a video by Rick Shiels that explains my exact process and think it is of value to all players. As I watch the games during ‘March Madness’, I am often struck at how one shot seems to change the momentum of a game. I know from my years of competing in various sports that one shot sometimes makes a tremendous difference in the outcome of a game. And, I bet you are wondering if one shot makes a difference in golf. I would suggest that it does; actually one shot could turn the tide of your entire round.

What Do You Carry In Your Pockets While Golfing?

I do not know about you, but have to empty my pockets except for a few ‘tools’ need to shoot my best scores ever. I found over the years that having bulging pockets is a distraction while making any swing. It is especially distracting while putting because my hands are close to my body. So, to eliminate this challenge I only carry what I need to play golf.
