Radio Silence on Golf

Hey Grateful Golfers! I hope you are having an awesome day. I just wanted to quickly touch bases and let you know that I am still here. I am on day 5 of 6 of my last chemo treatments and I am having a bit of time concentrating.

A little support from my golfing buddies goes a long way!

I am trying to follow what I can, but as you can image it is not so easy. Having said that, I did watch Brandt Snedeker win on the weekend and that was a good way to keep my mind of everything.

All is going well as expected and I hope to back at things in a bit. In the meantime, stick with me, I will be writing again soon.

In the meantime. Have an awesome week and remember to be grateful!

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

CP Canadian Women’s Open

The CP Canadian Women’s Open starts in a week. This year’s national women’s championship is held at the Wascana Country Club in Regina, Saskatchewan. I have never played this particular course, but play several others in Saskatchewan. If the venue and field strength matches years past, it will be an exciting four days of golf. Continue reading

Gary Woodland Leads The Way at the PGA Championship

The first round of the 100th PGA Championship did not reveal any surprises. Gary Woodland is leading and has one win on tour this year, but he is a bit of a surprise. He is a journeyman player and had a great round. It will be interesting to see if he can put together three more.

I had indicated before that one of the top 15 in the world will win and I stick by that assessment. Bellerive is beautiful, lush, and long, but nothing dangerous about it; as such, I found the scores on par with any other professional event outside of the other Majors. I am sure that there was some stellar golf being played, but I did not get the feel that excitement of Major golf. Am I missing something? Continue reading

Predictions For The 2018 PGA Championship

2018 PGA Championship logo.jpg

Logo from wikipedia

The 100th PGA Championship is upon us; as the fourth Major of 2018, the world’s best will be at the Bellerive Country Club, St. Louis, MO, USA. Create by Robert Trent Jones, this 7500 yard beast will favour the long hitters. The last time the PGA Championship was held at Bellerive was in 1992 with Nick Price winning in a playoff, so I expect the we will see many changes in to the course over the past 26 years. The field is very strong, similar to all Majors, and returning Champion Justin Thomas will have play his best if expects to win back to back PGA Championships. Continue reading

Overwhelmed By An Awesome Gesture!

I have a blessed life! The random support I receive from my friends is amazing and every once in a while I become overwhelmed. I talked about my local golfing buddies who marked their golf ball and sent me pictures. That was a good day!

On Friday, I received a surprising tweet from Mike Johnny from 36aday golf blog. (if you have not dropped by his site, I recommend you do) Mike and I found each other’s blog a few years back and subsequently met at the Toronto Golf show in 2016. We talk regularly online about golf and our conversations are always positive. Well, Mike’s tweet caught me by surprise as I was overwhelmed with gratitude.  Continue reading
