Every golfer loves to start their round on a hole of a specific par. Some prefer a wide open tee shot or a short approach into the green. Regardless of your preference, there is a course out there that suits your desires. I have two stories about wonderful courses that offer unique challenges to my game. I loved playing both the courses, but to score well, I had get past the first hole in order to have a chance at shooting a low golf score.

If you like watch older golf videos of great players, then you likely have watched the Tiger Twirl. This happens when Tiger Woods hits a fantastic shot and spins his club around in a sort of celebration type move. It really is cool to watch and in his younger years he really put a lot of effort into this particular aspect of his showmanship. I am not sure it was intention, but it sure is fun to watch.

I purposely have refrained from talking about COVID-19 because I believe there are way more qualified people who should be heard from. All I can say is that I am doing my part by staying home as much as possible and practicing social distancing. Having said that, golf season is quickly approaching and courses in my area might be open as early as three weeks. If that is the case, I will have to make some decisions on whether to hit the links or wait it out. We will call that a game day decision.
In the meantime, the R&A and USGA have temporarily modified some of the rules to address the COVID-19 challenges from playing golf to level out the playing field during competition. Before I give my opinion on these efforts, I thought it important to outline the modifications.

Coming from a golfer who has 6 sets of golf clubs in the garage and one more on the way, I can honestly say that I have plenty of golf equipment stored ready for use. I am not sure there is a minimum amount of stores that players need because it is a personal thing, but I suggest that having some equipment on hand will help reduce overall playing costs. And this is always a good thing, don’t you think?
