An Opinion on the New Rules of Golf

Well, after 11 months of the new rules of golf being implemented, I am not sure that there is any real difference to how most amateurs play. I mean, some of the new rules have made the game easier and yet, the instances where the local players sees a possible impact is almost negligible. I have tried to talk about many of the new rules, but it seems that most players who do not compete could not care less, they just want to play golf. Does seem right to you?

Consistently Hitting the Long Ball By Indoor Practice

One of the many things I need/want to improve on is hitting a consistent long ball; both off the tee and with my long irons/hybrids/fairway woods. It is something I have longed for over the years and this year I think I have a plan to make it happen. It has to do with my previous thoughts on stretching, my orange whip and building an indoor driving range. Yup, an indoor driving range.

We Worry Too Much On The Golf Course

Have you ever realized how much worry and anxiety is generated on the golf course? We lament about most shots to make, the lie of the ball, unlucky bounces, poor aim, challenging swing thoughts, and I could go on and on. Of course, this type of stress is experienced by most athletes, but golf is such a cerebral game, I think it might take its toll a bit more the players. If you think about it, when is the last time you played golf and did not experience some sort of emotional roller coaster?

A Blanket of Snow

As I sit looking out my front window watching the snow gently fall to the ground, I cannot not help wonder about the future of my golf game. I muse about the time I have to improve my physical health and wonder if I will ever reach my goal as a scratch golfer. It really is a restive time and I enjoy being reflective. However, 6 months is a long time to wait before the golf courses in the area open!
