Most golfers have thousands of dollars invested in their golf equipment. I am one of those players who meticulously cares for their clubs to ensure that when I am ready to play, I will not be held back by faulty equipment. Other than cleaning, which is habitual, repairs and maintenance are important and happen all year around. Lock Wrists on Short Chips

For the past month I have used my DIY chipping mat in my basement. I thought I would get a jump start on my short game practice time this year and I find it very beneficial. I try to hit 100 balls a day, but sometimes that is a challenge. My repetitive practice has allowed me to identify some of chipping woes I developed last year and engineer a solution. Overall, I would say that my practice time is well worth the investment of time.

If I knew then what I know now, would I be a better golfer? If I knew 40 years ago what it would take to be a scratch golfer, I might have changed my approach to my game. Would I have practiced more? Rory McIlroy vs Tiger Woods – Was it Worth the Hype?

A long awaited head to head match between Rory McIlroy vs Tiger Woods happened yesterday at the Dell Technologies Match Play event at the Austin Country Club. Each made it out of their respective pools, but Rory was the more dominate of the players. His strong play has this season indicated that he was the favorite, but he was playing Tiger Woods. Therefore, nothing was certain or predictable in the lose a go home rounds.

Make Sure to Thank Your Golf Course Superintendent and Their Staff

I cannot say enough great things about Craig Moody and his staff at my home course of Osprey Links Golf Course. They are tireless workers and because their efforts, I am able to enjoy 7 months of fantastic golf on a fantastic golf course. Customer service is always mentioned in my articles, but the maintenance staff is often overlooked. They are as critical as the person the meets you at the proshop!
