Yesterday, I played in my second golf tournament in two days. It was the Senior Men’s Invitational at Osprey Links Golf Course. It was the first time I entered in this event and I have to say, it was great fun and something I will try to enter again next year. The stroke play format was divided into age groups and I was in the 55 to 59 group. We had many different age groups and caliber of players, yet everyone appear very satisfied with the format, the tee selection and their playing partners. Continue reading

My home course has a new member who is famous for her ability to bring out the best in even the most disheartened golfer. Golfing for Charity
Golf is a great sport to host a charity event. Participants receive a tangible something for the donation which usually includes meal and great prizes. The sold out charity golf tournament, Tee It Up for Mattawa Healthcare, starts today with a practice round and evening barbecue. On Wednesday, the actual day of the event, I can expect meals, prizes and a great time. In some cases, celebrities like Jeff Hutchinson, show up to lend their support for the charity; they add that extra something to the tournament. How My Putting Goes, My Score Goes
There is a constant in everyone’s golf game. Some have challenges with driving, others with their short game. Personally, my challenges are all rooted in the short stick. I have shot in the 70s in my last 19 games. My scores ranged between 78 and 71 with a current handicap index of 4.3. Obviously, I am very happy with my consistency and yet as a typical golfer, I always feel I can do better. Continue reading
