Playing Golf on A Familiar Course

I was a way for work the past few days, but I did have the opportunity to play a round of golf at the old stomping grounds the Roundel Glen Golf Course. When I first walked into the pro shop I met with a couple familiar faces that made me feel right at home. I chatted with Kim and Mike, the faces of Roundel Glen, and caught up with all the happenings. Unfortunately, I did not see the course superintendent, Jeremy Sizer, to tell him that the course looked great.

Play Mind Games on The Golf Course

There are mind games and then there are mind games. Yesterday I played a round on my home course of Roundel Glen. I called ahead to set up a game with Mike; we teed off at 12:15 and the moment we stepped on first tee, the mind games began.

It is always inderstood that when Mike and I play a fun round of golf, there are no limits the ribbing, joking and well just about anything.

For example, Mike dropped his ball as he walked to the 12th tee and someone kicked it down the cart path before he noticed. It was funny seeing him walk around in confusion looking for his ball.

However, there is always that one joke or action that tops all others. During this round it happened on the 18th green. What do you think:

It was all in fun and I can hardly wait to get even…I mean tee it up.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

The Players Championship – Should It Be A Major?

The Players Championship is the only significant tournament owned and administered by the PGA Tour.  The majors all have different sponsors:  The Masters is owned by the Augusta National Golf Club; the U.S. Open by the United States Golf Association (USGA); The Open Championship by The R&A, and the PGA Championship by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA of America).

Created in 1974,  Jack Nicklaus won the inaugural tournament.  Although it has a short history, it gathers an élite field every year.  The tournament runs at about the same time each year with the final round sometimes being played on Mother’s Day. Its permanent home at TPC Sawgrass since 1982 at the Stadium Course.

Visualizing Your Shot Is A Key to Low Golf Scores

Do you know how to visualize a golf shot? If you talk to any elite player, they will tell you that they can see every shot before they attempt it. This technique is very important to low golf scores, consistent play, and effortless golf. I use this technique often, but I think I need to use it all the time to reach my goal of being a scratch golfer!

Our Golfing Family

Family is described in many ways and depending on the person, could include non-blood relatives. Family provides a sense of belonging for most people and being within a golfing family, the central theme to inclusion is golf. However, if we were to examine our lives, I bet most of us belong to many families at the same time. I know I do and on any given day, a different family member will pop in and out of my life.
