Golf Drill – Chipping Drill Using Practice Flags

Simple golf drills are the best! With 15 minutes of chipping practice before my round, I try to simulate what I will experience on the course. This drill uses the available course equipment and works all three of my Titleist Vokey wedges.

I like to start with my gap wedge, then sand wedge and finish with my lob wedge. I keep the same launch spot for all the shots for consistency of aim during all the chips. This drill follows the KISS theory and I use it almost every time I warm up.

Golf, It Is a Matter of Stats

Earlier in the year I decided to keep more detailed golf stats. I have kept stats in the past, but I was not very diligent about it. Starting nine games ago, I changed my focus to support my ongoing efforts to be a scratch golfer. I hope these core stats will help indicate where my future training sessions should focus.

2016 US Open Picks

The US Open has a tradition of being the most challenging Major. This year, Oakmont Golf Course will help uphold this tradition and perhaps vex most of the field in the process! In 2007, Tiger Woods commented that “That golf course is going to be one of the toughest tests that we’ve ever played in a U.S. Open, especially if it’s dry, it will be unreal because those greens are so severe.” This year should be no different!
