It was a 60/40 split, but Tiger Woods is still a huge draw for professional golf. It seems that no matter what is going on, he either on TV or being talked about. Well at least until the end of the tournament and the media has to focus on the leaders. I have to say that I am not surprised because much of the success of modern day golf can be attributed to Tiger Woods.

Emotionally Detached When Playing Golf
After watching Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau express frustration while hitting the ball poorly out of a sand trap, I wonder if something is wrong out side of golf. Generally, they are intense players, but manage their emotions very well. Unfortunately, their over-reaction is something we see fairly often from professionals on tour in the form of swearing, throwing clubs, or in Sergio and Bryson’s case damaging the course. However, if we think the professionals are losing it, image how many amateurs react!

The topic of sponsor exemptions for celebrities has bounced around as a semi-hot subject. I am not inferring that PRO-AMs are a bad thing, in fact I enjoy watching some of the antics by various celebrities. However, these events are set up this way and all the fans understand that this is not a regular event like all other professional golf tournaments. Personally, I not a fan of celebrities being given a sponsor exemption to play with the pros. And it appears I am in the majority on this topic.
