I use a push cart in the summer. Actually, I have used a push cart for 20 years in the summer. I find that using this very important piece of equipment I am able to play my best golf in the heat of the summer. Of course I think my three-wheeled cart is the best, but my friend Blair uses a four-wheeled cart and says it is the cats pajamas. I am not convinced because I pushed his bucket of bolts and it was a tough grind.

How Does Burning The Cup Help Your Golf Game?
For those who are not familiar with “burning the cup”, it means having your ball catch part of the lip of the cup during putting, but never dropping in the hole. This is a very frustrating scenario; one that Rick and I experienced in our last round of golf. We were playing in a senior men’s scramble with Fernando and we burned more cups than we have in the past 5 rounds combined. But is burning the cup really all that bad? Hmm…..something to consider.

This seems like a very simple process and it is; it is a matter of playing your game so that it fits the strokes your repeatedly made in the practice area. With the amount of golf I play, the odds must be in my favour that I will hit a great shot from time to time. Additionally, I spent a fair bit of time practicing my short game with the intent of lowering my golf scores. I have successfully improved my short game, but I still need to stay focused on my goal of being even a better player. Fortunately, there was a shot during my last round that greatly increased my passion for staying the course!
